Dreams. Less than you need to know.

Good morning. Your (suburban) hermit is here with another bunch of random items. I hope you passed a good night. Today's random items are about dreams. My own dreams tend to be fun. I've been retired long enough now that I no longer have those stressful 'work dreams,'

Rodger Kamenetz is a poet, professor, and a very spiritual man who has put in a lot of time studying dreams. As he puts it, "My continuing obsessions are dreams, poetry, and reimagining the sacred." Notice how dreams came first on the list? His book, The History of Last Night’s Dream: Discovering the Hidden Path to the Soul  is excellent work, and was a page-turner for me. He also seems to be a really decent guy.

DREAMS

Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is a barren field

Frozen with snow.

Langston Hughes

Quotes about dreams:

"All human beings are also dream beings. Dreaming ties all mankind together."

― Jack Kerouac

“I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?”

― John Lennon

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

― Eleanor Roosevelt

“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”

― Vincent Willem van Gogh

Until we 'meet' again,
James
