Hair of the Donald. Iggy Pop rides. Hero dogs.

FROM NEWS SOURCES

Details of Donald Trump's daily hair maintenance and styling include:

The Daily Routine: He washes his hair with Head & Shoulders but does not blow-dry it. Instead, he lets it air-dry for about an hour while reading the paper and watching television. He then combs and styles it himself. [NPR]

The Technique: Rather than a simple comb-over, his signature look involves a complicated combination of combing sections from the back and sides forward, then pulling them back over his crown and locking the hair in place using copious amounts of hairspray. [NPR]

Maintenance and Coloring: While he does his own daily styling, there are differing opinions and reports on who handles his trims and color treatments. According to accounts in Michael Wolff's book Fire and Fury, his daughter Ivanka claimed he dyes his own hair. Other accounts from former White House aides and stylists suggest he cuts his own hair with a large pair of scissors or has trusted inner-circle members do it to avoid public leaks. I'm a sucker for these videos on Youtube:

A rather different video; Iggy Pop, The Passenger. I get earworms, the song you can't get out of your head. The best thing I can do is just listen to the song all the way through. My earworm this  morning was my favorite Iggy Pop song from 'back in the day.'

Political quotes

"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat."

Will Rogers

-

"The left and the right live in parallel universes. The right listens to talk radio, the left's on the Internet and they just reinforce one another. They have no sense of reality. I have now one ambition: to retire before it becomes essential to tweet."

Barney Frank

-

"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."

Dwight D. Eisenhower

-

"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it."

Mark Twain

-

"The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself."

Benjamin Franklin

Adios, until next time.
